Not a feed. Not a forum. Not speed-friending. One standing hour of video call with the same 4–8 people, hosted so it never goes stale, until the strangers become your regulars.
A short questionnaire, your chapter of life, your time zone, what you love talking about, your pace. Then a human (not just an algorithm) places you in a loom of 4–8 people in the same season. Wrong fit? We reseat you free, no awkwardness.
Same day, same time, same faces. Every call is on Zoom: you dial in from one link, one button, and you are in the room. A trained host opens with a real question and keeps every voice in the conversation, nobody dominates, nobody disappears.
The club keeps going: a weekly calendar of events you can dial into, interest circles, and a private space for the recipe you promised, the photo of the finished puzzle, a “thinking of you.” No public feed, nothing to keep up with.
Your next hour, front and center
The home screen opens on your next call and this month's events, with one big button to join and a reminder before it starts.
Talk between calls
Your loom's room for photos and news, a message to one member, and a question you can put to the whole community.
The people, not the numbers
Member pages with the stories they have told, so you can follow the ones you click with and remember who is who.
Made for first-timers
Large type, few buttons, a checklist that walks you through your first week, and a practice room to test your camera any time.

Minute by minute
:00 · DOORS OPEN
Faces pop in one by one. Hellos, weather, who's drinking what. The host checks everyone can hear.
:10 · THE QUESTION
One good prompt, “what's a rule you're glad you broke?” Around the room it goes, at whatever depth people want.
:30 · THE DRIFT
The plan dissolves into actual conversation, the good kind. The host only steps in to hand the floor around.
:55 · LOOSE ENDS
Promises get made, a recipe, a book title, “bring the photo next week.” Same time next week. The room empties warm.
The community
Friend Loom is a private online community for people who want real connection. You share your stories, you follow the members whose lives interest you, and you join as many events as you like from your computer, phone or tablet. Members lead most of them, so the calendar changes every month. Nobody phones you, and nobody minds if you sit a week out.
Every member has a page inside the club: where they are from, what they know about, the stories they have told. Follow anyone and you will see when they post or host something. Private to the community, invisible to the open internet.
Post the long version: where you grew up, the job nobody knows about, the year everything changed. Members read it, ask about it, and remember it next time you speak.
Smaller rooms built around one thing: books, cards, walking, genealogy, veterans, caregivers. Join as many as you want, or start the one you wish existed.
Put your own event on the community calendar: a hymn sing, a trivia night, a walk and talk, a lesson in the thing you are best at. We help you run it and fill the room.
Photos, recipes, the finished puzzle, a thinking of you. Conversation carries on between events, with no feed to scroll and no likes to chase.
Birthdays get sung to and someone notices when you miss the events week after week.
A regular rhythm every week, plus whatever members put on the calendar this month. Come to one, come to six.
Your loom hour · weekly
The same 4 to 8 people at the same hour, hosted, so it never turns into an awkward silence.
Life story hour · weekly
One member takes the floor and tells their story. Everyone else listens and asks good questions.
One thing I learned · weekly
A member teaches the community something useful: sourdough, birding by ear, reading a Medicare letter.
Joke jar · weekly, 20 minutes
Everybody brings one joke. Groaners are not only allowed, they tend to win.
Open rooms · most mornings
Coffee hours with no agenda. Stay five minutes or fifty, camera off if you like.
Member events · all month
Trivia, hymn sings, garden tours, film clubs, birthday parties. Whatever the community decides to run.
Your host
Hosts are trained conversation-keepers, part good neighbor, part gentle referee. They learn your names and your stories, notice who's been quiet, and know a hundred questions better than “how's the weather?”
They also keep the room safe: guidelines are enforced kindly but firmly, and anything concerning gets a real human response, fast.

Senior looms are seating now. Every other room is taking waitlist names, find yours.
