You hit your number, gave notice at 42, and discovered the part the spreadsheets skip: everyone you know is at work until 6. Friend Loom is opening looms just for FIRE and early retirees, the same 4–8 people, one honest hour a week, no one asking why you aren't at the office.
One email when FIRE & early retiree looms open, nothing else, ever.
You're on the list. We'll email you the moment FIRE & early retiree looms open, and you'll get first pick of a seat.

“Everyone my age is at work.”
Weekday lunches, midday hikes, 2pm ideas, with nobody to share them. Your loom is the group that's also free on a Tuesday.
“I can't exactly complain. I won.”
Try telling working friends you're struggling post-FIRE. In a room of people who did the same thing, you don't have to translate.
“I built a life around leaving. Not arriving.”
The forums covered withdrawal rates, not identity. Your loom is where the “what now?” conversation actually happens.
When this room opens
Seated by stage, not age. Left at 38 or 51, lean FIRE or fat, we match on where you are, not your birth year.
Hosted, so it goes somewhere. One sharp question a week. Less “market talk,” more “who are you when nobody needs you at 9am?”
Private, like everything here. Loom hours are never recorded, no profiles, no ads in the community. How every loom works →
Waitlist members get first pick of a seat, and founding-member pricing. Know a lonely parent meanwhile? Senior rooms are already live →
The community
Friend Loom is a private online community for people who want real connection. You share your stories, you follow the members whose lives interest you, and you join as many events as you like from your computer, phone or tablet. Members lead most of them, so the calendar changes every month. Nobody phones you, and nobody minds if you sit a week out.
Every member has a page inside the club: where they are from, what they know about, the stories they have told. Follow anyone and you will see when they post or host something. Private to the community, invisible to the open internet.
Post the long version: where you grew up, the job nobody knows about, the year everything changed. Members read it, ask about it, and remember it next time you speak.
Smaller rooms built around one thing: books, cards, walking, genealogy, veterans, caregivers. Join as many as you want, or start the one you wish existed.
Put your own event on the community calendar: a hymn sing, a trivia night, a walk and talk, a lesson in the thing you are best at. We help you run it and fill the room.
Photos, recipes, the finished puzzle, a thinking of you. Conversation carries on between events, with no feed to scroll and no likes to chase.
Birthdays get sung to and someone notices when you miss the events week after week.
A regular rhythm every week, plus whatever members put on the calendar this month. Come to one, come to six.
